For the next two days, I have a fun quiz for you all! Don’t worry, this isn’t like your school exams. There’s no chance of being sent to the principal’s office.
I am…somewhere. It’s up to you to guess where. I’ll post three clues and each day you can post your guess in the comments. Your guess will count toward a donation to a local charitable organization. Last time I ran a Where in the World Am I, it was so much fun to read all of your guesses, so without further ado…
Clue # 2:
This city has a rich literary history.
For each comment posted between now and next Friday, I’ll donate to a local charity (which I’ll reveal on April 24th because the organization is so closely tied to the city). Next week, I’ll let you know where I am, who guessed correctly, and the charity.
Guess away in the comments below! (One guess per day, please.) Stop by tomorrow for clue number three.
I’ve changed my mind. You are in Dublin.
Okay, now I’m thinking New Orleans.
Okay. Now I’m switching to London.
London!
Perth Amboy!
Troy, NY?
Paris.
Changed my mind. Paris. Can’t wait to find out.
St. Louis?
OK. Forget about Portland … A lot of people still feel it’s New Orleans and London sounds reasonable … awesome actually. But what about Boston?
OH! I almost forgot The Vacationers is on my to-do reading list. What do you think about it so far? I’m currently reading Wild, by Cheryl Strayed and duuuuude very good. Let me know how you feel about the book, I’d love to know your thoughts and if I should just go out and buy it, or not. 🙂
I really enjoyed The Vacationers. It gets off to a slow start, but it really picks up by page 20-25. Then I got so engrossed in the story I kept flipping the pages not wanting to put it down. If you read it let me know what you think!
Wasn’t Wild terrific?
Wild is definitely great so far. I’m really enjoying the journey and the way she’s telling it , and thanks for the tip on The Vacationers! If I read faster I’d totally join your book club, but I’m really lame … I must be the slowest reading-writer on Earth. If you read any other good ones feel free to let me know.
Oh, I’m a slow reader too. I like to savor the words and not rush through.
New Orleans?
I’m sticking with John Kennedy Toole’s home town: New Orleans. This borderline illiterate actually read his brilliant novel.
I don’t know.but I’m reading…
