You made it! I’m so glad you’re here! Kick off your shoes and stay a while.
I have been mulling over the move to WP.com to WP.org for a while. I decided to bite the bullet because WP.org offers more functionality and flexibility.
As many of you know, I teach creative writing classes and workshops online through The Loft Literary Center. (Check out my course starting September 20 here.) The Loft is fabulous, and I would like to continue teaching there. But I’ve also wanted to create different classes that don’t fit in The Loft’s standard format. I’m developing new online creative writing workshops, weekend courses, daily lessons, and self-study for serious but busy writers.
So I took a deep breath and made the leap, hoping that if I built it, they will come. My first course Five Days to Better Setting and Description is coming this fall.
What do you think about the new look? What kinds of courses would you be interested in? Let me know in comments.
Coming next week: my first post here will be an interview with Bethany Ball, author of What to Do About the Solomons. I can’t wait to introduce you to her book.

Love the look of your new blog, Jackie!
I’m so glad you like it. I think it’s “me” 🙂
It does look great! Can’t wait to be in your mailing list!
Wonderful! Thank you for subscribing. 🙂
Congratulations on the new digs – looks great! I hope your new neighbors brought over a plate of cookies.
Thanks, Peg! I really like how everything turned out. I’ve already eaten all the cookies and they were delicious. 🙂
Congrats on the transition, Jackie–hope it was fairly painless!
Thanks, Carole. I think it all went very well. I’m still working on one more component to the site, which will be added in the fall. 🙂
Wow! Spectacular, spectacular, Jackie!
Thank you so much, Carla! I really like how it all turned out.
I love the new look, too. I’m contemplating moving from .com to .org. Are you Premium/business or out-right self-hosted? Did you migrate your readers/subscribers and stats? Can you maybe email me about the process when you get a chance? I have all these ideas floating around, and I think a move would be best, but I want to take the foundations with me. Sorry, I’m rambling, it’s just that you made the move, I trust you, and I love your new digs.
Thanks,
Lorna
So glad you like the new digs! I went with the self-hosted option. I’ll send you an email with the details.
