Some neighborhoods decorate for Christmas with twinkly lights and charming wreaths. Not mine.
But Halloween? Hold onto your goblins. The spookier, the better. It’s like the Monsters, Inc. motto: We scare because we care.
Let’s take a walk around my neighborhood into the ghoulish and the macabre.
Disturbing clowns seem to be all the rage this year. This gives me the creeps.
More clowns. The clown heads light up and spin around. *shudder*
Skeleton 1: So, Marty, how’s it hanging? You look like you’re wasting away to nothing.
Skeleton 2: My FitBit is on its last legs. I’m dying to get a new one. It’s hard to get in so many steps per day.
Skeleton 1: I hear you. You know Larry? Trying to cheat the system as usual. He’s got a new way to increase his steps…
Larry…
Another clown!
After all the gruesome, let’s end on a sweet note.
Happy Halloween!
Clowns totally freak me out…
I mean, they’re supposed to entertain children, not scare the beejezus out them!
Clowns have always been evil. It’s on Halloween that they show their true colours…
Ooh, they’re lying in wait all year to unleash their creepiness on Halloween. *shudder*
Hi Jackie. I’m so glad that someone else is bothered by goulish clowns. 🙂 You should have seen me trying to calm down my little boy when I was ready to scream myself. Still, have a Happy Halloween! Stay away from those clowns.
I’m fine with the ghouls and ghosts, but the clowns give me chills for some reason. You can bet I’ll have a clown-free Halloween!
I love this post. I hope to get to experience Halloween some day.
The clowns are rather creepy.
It is a lot of fun, Caroline. I enjoy seeing all the kids (young and young-at-heart) in costume.
Though Reggie doesn’t care for it as much. All those costumes scare him.
Clowns don’t bother me. I love Halloween in your neighborhood. So festive.
The kids will be out in force in their costumes tomorrow! There is a costume parade through the neighborhood.
Do you have trick-or-treaters in your area?
Love the skeleton climbing in the window! Hilarious
So clever! I’m always impressed and amazed by the creativity.
I love Halloween! And love the skeletons hanging out on the building. Thanks for this fun tour of your neighborhood. And give poor Reggie extra hugs!
Reggie’s least favorite day is Halloween. The kids in their costumes scare him — especially the ones wearing capes.
But his most favorite day is the day after Halloween when he snuffles up all of the treats dropped on the sidewalk by those kids!
I’m usually most scared of clowns, Jackie, but that skeleton climbing into the window creeps me out. Yikes!
Halloween is not for the faint of heart around here. 🙂
Oh they ARE a macabre lot, aren’t they, Jackie? I’ll stick with that sweet pumpkin head 🙂
Indeed! There were a few charming pumpkins and “friendly” witches haunting the neighborhood this year. 🙂
Thanks for bringing us along on the walk! The dialogue between skeletons makes me smile.
Happy All Saints Day!
Every year, I’m amazed by the creativity of the decorations. So clever!
Happy Dia de los Muertos! 🙂
Ha ha, great stuff, Jackie! Those are some first-class decorations. Clowns really are creepy. 🙂
This neighborhood doesn’t mess around when it comes to Halloween decorations. Christmas, on the other hand, is quite subdued. 🙂
